We don’t always have the right solutions for your business! The difference at Gibbs is that when we don’t, we listen to your feedback and insights so we can produce the perfect solution. Our sheet bins were a hit with the majority of our laser cutting and waterjet customers, but some did come back to advise that the bins themselves were too heavy for their fork trucks. They loved the concept and how these bins would make segregating materials to obtain a higher financial return much easier internally, but the current design wouldn’t work. We worked closely with our customers to obtain their feedback and insights and set out to create a version that works for the smaller-capacity fork trucks. We designed, created a concept, redesigned, sent out a prototype, obtained feedback, made the necessary changes, and got approval from these companies that this solution would work for their fork trucks, so we put them into production! The solution we set out to solve: Make a sheet bin that works with low capacity fork truck ✅ The additional benefits our customers saw: Easy segregation ✅ No more messy pallets ✅ A modular storage option ✅ Not spending time banding them for collection ✅ No sharp sheet edges exposed where staff may injure themselves ✅ If you are looking for a better way to handle the scrap metal waste you produce, contact us, and we'll work with you to implement the right scrap metal recycling system for your business. #solution #storage #skeleton #sheetmetal #waterjet #lasercutting #manufacturing #engineering #plasmacut #ukmfg #metalmerchants #steel #stainless #aluminium #ferrous #nonferrous #cnc #fabrication #precisionengineering #innovation #continualimprovement #metalwork

Choosing the right quick change tool post for your lathe

doubling the measured distance from the center of the spindle to the top of the closest way. For example, if you measure 6″, then you have a 12″ lathe swing

3)How do you measure for a tool post?

I suggest that a good starting point is to measure from the top of the top slide (ie where the tool post mounts) to centre height. Then select a post that puts its tool tip such that the height adjustment straddles centre height.
