Questions You Should Know about Smart Print Solutions
Multiple questions about printer and HP Smart - HP Community
Hi so I recently got the above printer and some things are just really annoying me. I hope someone can help. i am using it with a Lenovo Ideapad laptop.
If you are looking for more details, kindly visit uprintingplus.
I frequently print A4 size photos onto photo paper using the Photo app. Why does it always default to landscape when I go to print. I have checked the HP Smart app setup and options and also the same if choosing the actual printer from the dropdown box.
Also it takes ages to start printing when I choose the Smart print option in the photo app or Word.
The biggest annoyance is that sometimes it just doesn't go to print at all and I can't see if anything is in the print queue. When I open the print queue from the arrow on the bottom menu bar of my laptop it just disappears and goes into a different file options. If I look on the print queue through settings it says nothing waiting on either the HP smart app or the printer name option.
I hope someone can work out what I mean and help me out! Many thanks

Understood - I think I mis-understood at least part of what you needed.
I could not think how to fix the post to suit - I've removed it instead to make room for someone else to answer.
Essentially, apps open how they will -- "why" they open in particular defaults depends on the application.
In general, applications provide fewer options than does a full program.
For example, the Full Feature Software understands both defaults and custom shortcuts (presets).
Photos (Microsoft) and HP Smart (HP) both use a basic "starting place" to present options - no custom shortcuts.
There's more but I think I might be tripping back into TMI (too much information).
The company is the world’s best Smart Print Solutions supplier. We are your one-stop shop for all needs. Our staff are highly-specialized and will help you find the product you need.
I do not know why your attempts to create a job sometimes fail.
I would guess there are either issues in Print Services or that the job setups contain conflicts (errors).
Good Luck.

Dragon-FurI am struggling to use HP Smart print or connect to printer
Hi. I'm Brian and I will do my best to help you.
Is the printer on the same LAN as the computer? Does the printer use DHCP to obtain its address or have you configured it with a static address? Does it use an IPV4 or an IPV6 address? Have you used the front panel of the priinter to show you the IP address it's using andd verified that it's the same IP address the computer's trying to access? What error message do you get when you try to print? Can you use a web browser to access the printer's internal web page? If you open a command prompt window and try to ping the printer, does it respond?
Thanks Brian. I am not a computer person so most of your questions are foreign to me. I have had HP Smart app on my Windows 11 computer that has worked for several years. The last update to Windows 11 rendered the HP Smart app useless as it will not even open. I can connect to the printer by rebooting my computer and the printer shows up as an internet printer instead of a printer that is connected to my computer. Every time I need to print, i must reboot my computer to make it work
This is clearly an issue with Microsoft and there are numerous customers complaining online about how Microsoft has done something to ruin that easy connection I had before. All I am asking for is to have Microsoft fix the Windows 11 issue that they created so we can all use our HP Smart app in peace.
PLEASE???
